If you are a great hockey fan and often attend sports events you will find the following ranking of all arenas in the National Hockey League useful. The arenas are ranked according to overall atmosphere, look, amenities, and the area where the building is located.
Bell Centre - Outside
This arena delivers the best hockey atmosphere and experience of all in the National Hockey League. Watching a game played in Bell Center is a once in a lifetime experience as everything, from laser-image presentations, player introductions, special video board and National Anthem renditions, add to the trill and excitement of a live event.
PPG Paints Arena - Inside
The classic arena is now the Penguins' home. It is remarkably pleasing, with an exciting atmosphere and incredible fan base, right in the center of downtown Pittsburgh. Plus, more of championship banners have been added lately.
Bell MTS Center - Inside
The place is just ideal for the smaller-market Jets. Always crowded and loud this building is bright and offers a kind of intimate environment.
SAP Center - Inside
Having the reputation of the loudest arena in the NHL the Shark Tank is underrated. Of course, there is nothing fancy about it, but the building itself still is a real gem. It features the unique Spinal Tap-esque shark head the players skate through before the game is started.
Rogers Place - Inside
It took ages to be built but the result exceeds all expectations. Located in downtown Edmonton this spectacular modern arena replaced the old Rexall Place that preserved the memories of fantastic live events.
Xcel Energy Center - Inside
You can see the students of all local Minnesota high schools in the concourse of this cute arena and will hear the fans shout "Let's Play Hockey!" before the puck is dropped. This arena is known for the friendliest fans in the league, indeed.
Capital One Arena - Inside
This arena is very loud and always crowded, but this is what it takes to create an atmosphere that rocks. The building is located near the Mall and Smithsonian museums so after the game you can spend the day exploring the area around.
Bridgestone Arena - Inside
If you happen to attend the game in Bridgestone Arena you may expect a performance long remembered. Not only will you enjoy a great game but will hear a famous country music performer sing the National Anthem. In addition, there is the Broadway strip blocks away just waiting to be explored. This is surely one of the best sports arenas in the country with awesome atmosphere.
Madison Square Garden Arena - Inside
After the major renovation finished several years ago the famous arena has become cleaner, brighter, and now boasts more fan-friendly amenities. The best place to watch the game is from the bridge that runs the length of the ice. In addition, the building is conveniently situated right in midtown of Manhattan.
United Center Arena - Inside
Watching a game of hockey in this enormous arena is always a spectacular event not to be missed. One can't but feel petrified when the National Anthem is being performed in this large loud place. Even though the location of United Center is not its advantage the building itself is really awesome.
Amalie Arena - Inside
Every game played here comes with lots of indoor and outdoor entertainment, plus the arena features a giant video board.
Air Canada Centre - Inside
Here hockey traditions are fully observed. Watching the Maple Leafs walk through the crowd from dressing room to the ice is really fun. The arena is located in Toronto, a bit city with lots of sights to discover and explore.
Staples Center - Outside
The arena enjoys a superb location in La La Land, but it is somehow free of its famous laid-back style. In short, the building is just great for watching a game.
Rogers Arena - Inside
For many years this awesome building has been welcoming hockey fans who were looking forward to watching the great game. In addition, there is Roger Neilson statue outside the arena that only adds to its appeal.
Nationwide Arena - Outside
The arena's location right in the middle of Columbus, a beautiful college town with a great atmosphere, only adds to the charm of this place. And each time the Blue Jackets score the loud cheer will make you jump.
Wells Fargo Center - Inside
Even though you will meet the least-friendly fans in the NHL there you will immerse in the atmosphere of big game accompanied by the cheers of the very loud and extremely passionate fans. The building itself is rather plain, but the vibe is always just fantastic.
Honda Center - Inside
The place is really chic, with beautiful marble floors and towering palm trees outside.
Scottrade Center - Inside
The building is over 20 years old, and it is known for its old-time intimate atmosphere that is really unique.
TD Garden Arena - Inside
Well, it lacks the charm and exclusiveness of the renowned Boston Garden, but TD Garden has a terrific vibe.
KeyBank Center - Inside
The building itself is quite nice, but the team's poor performance has had a negative impact on the vibe lately. But the recently constructed Harbor Center complex across the street can add thrill to the overall experience.
Prudential Center - Inside
Like Key Bank Center in Buffalo, this beautiful building has been half empty because of the Devils' play. The area is not a tourist magnet, however, there are some good placed to eat nearby. The arena has recently had a large state-of-the-art video board installed.
American Airlines Center - Inside
It's just OK, not bad but also not very good either.
Gila River Arena - Inside
The arena is very nice, plus there are plenty of good restaurants and a vibrant nightlife nearby. Unfortunately not many people go to Glendale now.
Canadian Tire Centre - Inside
The arena is located in the place which is hard to get to. The building is not something special and the vibe is unimpressive.
Barclays Center - Inside
If the players complain about the ice, the fans whine about the look and sightlines of this place, plus Brooklyn traffic is a real nightmare. But there is great public transportation and a plethora of good dining and shopping venues.
Scotiabank Saddledome Arena - Inside
The building is very old and should have been replaced years ago, but the atmosphere is good.
PNC Arena - Inside
The building is just OK, and the area has nothing to offer except this nondescript arena. But each time Hurricanes were winning the place was deafening, and it is a great advantage.
Pepsi Center - Inside
Nothing impresses about this arena tucked in the outskirts of Denver.
BB&T Center - Inside
This pretty nice contemporary arena lacks some special appeal. It is located not far from Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
